We are in the age of social media where actors make themselves available via twitter and other
social venues. This is great because as a fan you get to reach out to your actor and voice your admiration or displeasure. As adults we know these are actors merely playing a part but I think for many the lines are merged which can be a problem. As a fan I may adore Michael Muhney and what he has done for part of Adam Newman. Some people may disagree and they are entitled to their opinions but when the lines get blurred it makes you wonder if people can tell the difference. I think it’s unfair to judge an actor who works very hard because you dislike the character. There are two separate people and you can’t understand that then maybe you should really think twice before speaking. In this day and age bullying because you feel you have a right to say things with no repercussions is not right. You make it difficult for other fans who are not as outspoken to try to speak because afraid an actor will not respond. You in turn put us this category as being people who can’t handle fiction and non fiction.
I have a problem with that I enjoy and appreciate the actors that fill up my screen especially Michael Muhney because he doesn’t have to be in touch with his fans but he goes above and beyond that.
I feel bad that he has been a target a malicious people who can’t handle reality and fiction and makes me deter from social media. I too have experienced extreme bullying because of the characters I have enjoyed and it’s a shame that there are many people who hide behind a screen name and feel they can treat people how ever way they want. The block button twitter is beautiful thing. The fact that it has to be used so often is disheartening. I believe you should always voice your opinion but in a respectful manner. No one should ever be brow beaten or made to feel uncomfortable without any just cause.
Adam Newman is a character on TV that when the show is over its Michael Muhney who goes home.
It’s okay to be passionate about your show or character but there has to be lines drawn when you make them personal. I’m a huge fan of Michael Muhney and I may not always agree with what he does as Adam Newman but I still realize it’s a character. We really need to stop using these social media sites to abuse the actors that work very hard. If you don’t like the character that’s fine write in to the writers or the creators of whatever show. Taking it out on the actor itself shows signs of immature judgment on your part. I will always be a Michael Muhney fan and be grateful to the heights he has brought The Adam Newman character. As much as I struggle with the storylines and the writing I know he’s doing his best as a person and an actor and at the end of the day we have to respect that.

I grew up watching soaps while my mother worked she sat me in front of the television so that it could babysit me and a soap addict was born. As I became a teenager I still watched soaps on and off in the 80’s mostly stayed a GH fan .
A few years ago I was asked to do a video for a couple I never watched by one of my subscribers on YouTube. That couple was Adam Newman & Sharon Abbott at the time. As I often do I get as many clips of couple to watch their story and for me I found gold. I watched all the clips I could find at this time they were filming New Orleans so I needed to go back to see how this couple started. I feel in love with misunderstood yet diabolical Adam Newman and also the vulnerable Sharon Abbott who had just lost her baby. Thanks to a former Shadam fan I saw the story from beginning to end & CBS became my channel to watch. General Hospital was going through a slump again and I thought hey lets check it out. I was riveted and glued to the television thanks to Michael Muhney & Sharon Case’s performances and chemistry. I became overwhelmed making fan videos of this couple and they became quickly my favorite then New Orleans happened. It just confirmed my devotion to the couple the persecution of Adam and Sharon as the town outcasts make you root for them over and over again.
When Sharon was convicted of Adam’s then wife Skye Newman we prayed for her to get released as other characters guilty of so much more always did. That didn’t happen Sharon was convicted and felt she had to go on the run to prevent her family’s shame of her serving prison with Adam’s help . She then landed at the farm where we met Sam Gibson a vet with a heart of gold. Yeah, yeah anyway Sharon decide to let everyone at home think she was dead and as Adam grieved I found myself rooting for Adam to find out the truth and Sharon to wake up and go back home Dorothy but that didn’t happen. Adam stayed home suffering as Sharon lived on the farm. I and many others were disappointed in this direction of the storyline for three months we suffered watching Adam become darker again because the love of his life was taken away and he blame his father rightfully so. . As I drifted from Sharon’s character feeling she was being selfish to let her family grieve for her. I focused on Adam and rooted for him. Michael Muhney made you feel his pain time and time again through his great performance. Then Sharon did the ultimate no no as Adam flame for Sharon burned Sharon slept with someone else. Many welcomed this finally wanting her free from Adam but not I. I actually turned against Sharon finding this an ultimate betrayal but yet I held out hope when I heard Sharon would be discovered and she was. Sharon returned home to some very angry people for lying about her death except Adam. He was so glad she was home as hard as Sharon tried to tell Adam what happened on the farm he was just glad she was home. Then the Vet arrives to turn everything upside down in Adam & Sharon’s life to destroy their reunion. Then the unthinkable happens the famous memory card is thrown away and Sharon is condemned to life in jail because he was betrayed by the love of his life. Again our couple is broken up but fans are horrified by Adam’s actions in which Michael Muhney played so well. Letting her rot in jail because she slept with someone else confirming the Shadam naysayers Adam wasn’t for Sharon. Many of us struggled with this as well as the Actor himself to go down such a dark road. As a Shadam fan I hung in there many times wanting to give up as we saw Adam making Sharon suffer and some days looking like he took pleasure in it. That’s good acting. As we griped about the writing I hung in there. Sharon was eventually freed and Shadam prayed for a reunion and were given sex scenes but yet no reunion because Sharon was struggling with what Adam did and Shadam fans held their breath yet again but still root for the individuals on their own. Rooting for Adam to be named CEO of Newman and for Sharon to get her child back but there was price they paid for what they wanted Adam could be CEO but not with Sharon at his side. Sharon could have Faith but now with Adam by her side. So to keep them apart Adam’s father Victor marries Sharon falling into the trap to set up Adam
So again our couple is separated and we are rooting for them individually obviously we see the pattern here. Adam & Sharon brought together to be torn apart we get that. So crazy Patti blinds Adam and Sharon is by his side despite family objections and is some what supported to help Adam. We have a few days of reconnection for the couple and we sigh but as we know as fans they will be separated again just waiting for the shoe to drop and it did Patti’s confession and they are torn apart again. No surprise there and Adam is forced to deal with his blindness on his own. We again root for them individually so I make video stupid in love perfect for the Shadam situation and see the tweets by Michael Muhney.
Apparently he was overwhelmed by tweets of Shadam’s fans disappointed and I get his frustration because as fan I’m plenty frustrated does that mean I’m not rooting for you as an individual sweetie I have been rooting for you from the beginning.
Do I want you to succeed as a fan yes I do because you’re great obviously if I’m tuning in day and day out to see you go through heartache after heartache but even die hard fans need some happiness too. To say coupling isn’t important I think is wrong do we love the bad boy hell yes but we love it when he gets loving on too.
Rooting for a couple doesn’t mean you only see them as a couple for me. For me it means that I get to see the actor I like on his own be with someone who has his back at the end of the day. I think Adam fans want him to be the best he can be but they want him to be happy for a period of time not just days. We see other characters on the show get weeks months or even years we only want the same for you. Yes as Adam Newman army of one you’re awesome but no army is never really successful with only one soldier. I’m sorry if you’re being in dated with tweets for Shadam to reunite and the disappointment but isn’t that a sign also that people love you so much they want you to be happy I’m just saying. I decided to be a fan because of you and now I’m deciding whether I want to continue to be a fan also because of you. You may get 1,ooo of tweets and have tons of fans and one less may mean nothing to you so be it. I just thought you would want an honest perspective of your tweet.
It may not have been personal attack on Shadam lovers but it sure felt like it.
The note was appreciated by the way and I want to be sincere but as a fan it just seems like genie escaped already and damage is done. So wish you the best in all your future endeavors and good luck with the new storyline hope it all works out.

MY SOUL

From the depths of my soul, I cried out to the heavens, my heart bleeds for the love I desire.., my hands wipe the tormented tears from my face, as I sat alone in that dark place.. the demons around me so taunting and cold, gnawed at my empty existance so lonely and torn.. i cried and I cried till my eyes bled red.. and the pain within could not be carried no more.. but when the darkness fell upon me, to engulf me in its abyss… along came a butterfly so colourful and delicate, from up high above the sky.. with news of hope and shining truth.. “look up, look on high.. you cries have been heard, every spoken word.” and I looked to see, an light so bright, the darkness fell all around to its knees.. my eyes could barely see.. a faint but lovely sight it was„ a pair of loving eyes
with a tender smile.. so warm and inviting how it shone.. with arms open wide he stood there before me.. so caring so wonderful it felt true as light.. the pain the agony all gone from my side.. a loving embrace took me up high.. I looked into those eyes so close and so near.. I knew right then there was nothing to fear. You see my prayers were answered, my soul is complete, my body is shaking from my head to my feet.. I found what my heart desired, no he found me.. and now I bow down besides him, down on bended knees..
